It is caused by a defective diode (D-58) 1N5400. It can be replaced by a 1N5401 if you care to do so. WebIf you’ve cleaned out the bin and bin sensors to no avail, do what I did. Take apart the 10 screws holding the bumper together and clean out the dust behind the bumper and on the sensor on the top/front of the roomba. Worked like a charm. Was about to drop $130 on sending my Roomba back to get it “fixed.”

The fact that your brush motor kept running until you pulled the battery may indicate U11 on the controller board went bad.
